MISSION:
The mission of the Nassau Library System is to develop,
enhance, support, coordinate, and evaluate centralized and
complementary programs and services for the Member Libraries.
NLS provides interlibrary loan and document delivery, federal
and state document and patent searches to Member Libraries and
directly to patrons. Collections of 16mm films, videos, talking
books, large print materials, and other formats are available for
booking or in rotating collections in Member Libraries. Age-level
consultants provide consulting services in the areas of continuing
education, programming, collection development, grant
opportunities, and training. Special library services include our
Senior Connections program, deaf awareness training, talking books
for the blind, parent-child centers, literacy training, and
collections of books for county jail inmates. NLS has meeting
rooms and a technology training center for use by staff and Member
Libraries. Our trucks deliver materials to every public library in
Nassau County every weekday; many nonprofit and governmental
organizations use this service.

network that you become subject to policies and rules of the
other network.
NLS reserves the right to deny or remove
access to any person who does not
follow the System policy and rules.
